The Cape Town Jazz Festival 2012on April 4, 2012
The Table Bay hotel was a buzz this past week as they welcomed musical talent from the world over who had descended upon the mother city for the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
The Cape Town Jazz Festival has become a household name, with 13 years of succession and a host of positive reviews behind it. The event welcomes over 40 live acts that range from home-grown local talent to Jazz legends from the international scene. One thing is for certain, the Cape Town Jazz Festival is an event not to be missed! Among the artists who stayed with The Table Bay is Hugh Masekela, Dave Koz, James Ingram and Miss Lauren Hill.
The Table Bay is synonyms for hosting high profile guests which have included a wealth of celebrities and dignitaries including, amongst others, Charlize Theron, President Jacques Chirac, Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia, Naomi Campbell, Richard Branson and most recently, America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama. So being part of the CPTIJF wasn’t a first but an addition to its unquestionable status as the preferred destination for visiting international and local literati.
The picturesque harbour, panoramic views of Table Mountain a heritage of art and culture and the mix of eclectic décor and accessories, all provided the perfect setting for both international and local press to conduct their interviews. Spotted on site were the likes of CNN anchor and correspondent Errol Barnett, Vibe Magazine, and local favourites, All Access’s Pabi Moloi and Top Billing’s Aidan Bennetts.
