The Artscape Theatre and the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra presents the 39th Youth Music Festival, where a collaboration of classical composition, accompanied by the singing of 15 exceptionally gifted young singers and classical musicians, will transport you to a place of pure serenity.
These gifted individuals are selected from over 50 youths between the ages of 12 and 26. This celebration of music not only affords these talented young starlets, an opportunity to launch their careers in the music industry but gives them the opportunity to perform on a professional stage with the legendary Cape Philharmonic Orchestra , whose musical contribution has been known as “the most versatile and active orchestra on the continent of Africa” and whose proud history of symphonic music has been enriching South Africa, and the world, since the first symphony orchestra was formed in 1941 in Cape Town.
