Internationally acclaimed opera singer, Cecil John Peters (or ‘Buchu vannie Berg’ as he’s fondly known) will be entertaining our guests on the last Saturday and Sunday of July, August and September from 9pm. First enjoy dinner in the Atlantic Restaurant and end a memorable evening with Cecil Peters in the Lounge. The Atlantic Restaurant has one of the most envied positions on the V&A Waterfront. South facing, massive windows allow for incredible views of Table Mountain and the busy working harbour and it offers the ideal setting to start off a magical night.
Alternatively join us for High Tea on Sundays from 2.30 to 5.30pm as he performs in the Lounge.
An Internationally Acclaimed Performer
Cecil is the first internationally-acclaimed Khoi opera singer in South Africa and has performed in Belgium, New York and Boston. Locally, he has performed with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra.
A truly gifted musician, from an early age Cecil was interested in music and he taught himself to play the piano which laid the cornerstones for his operatic career. He has magnificently interpreted roles in many operas, including La Traviata and Cavallaria Rusticana. His many achievements include composing 2 musicals as well as the Olympic bid song for Cape Town in 2004.
His hour long show at The Table Bay Hotel includes well-known hits from Il Divo, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti and some popular light classical and operatic songs of other artists. He has been voted the best vocalist for the last 7 years at the Cape Minstrel competition.
