Enjoy Easter Jazz at The Table Bay Hotelon March 12, 2012
For 15 years, the Conservatory Restaurant at The Table Bay Hotel has been home to sultry Jazz sessions. It’s been the perfect place to indulge the senses on a Sunday morning, and to relax and unwind with family and friends.
This Easter Sunday, 8 April, soak up the relaxed atmosphere, enjoy the delectable Easter menu and listen to cool jazz. And, as this is a time favoured by children, we have loads of things for kids to do, from, decorating their own Easter bunny biscuits, creating amazing Easter sand art to making chocolate play dough Easter Bunnies. There is also face-painting and balloon art.
The menu reflects the Easter Bunny’s favourite dishes and obviously include a mountain of chocolate offerings and other sweet dishes including; a marzipan Easter cake, mini hot cross buns, pistachio and milk chocolate macaroons, Easter egg sweetie pies, chocolate brownies with a sticky toffee topping, Easter bunny lamingtons, and egg cup coffee mousse.
The Health Bar features coz lettuce, watercress, wild rocket, carrot sticks, celery sticks, red radish, grilled fennel, egg wedges, grated parmesan, rye croutons, cherry tomatoes, endive, bell peppers and asparagus. The Bakers Basket is filled with warm hot cross buns, corn bread, basil and garlic bread, blue cheese and red onion and assorted mint rolls.
There’s also a ploughman’s platter and a variety of starters including; almond rolled goats cheese with beetroot squares, thousand year egg salad, cured Franschhoek trout with watercress puree and egg mimosa dressing and smoked mackerel pate with salted cucumber and horseradish cream.
The carvery features local specialities like Cape Malay Chicken curry with pickles and atchar, sea bass roasted with rosemary and lemon, braised fennel in orange liqueur.
The De Maar trio will be performing and this talented instrumental trio features Benedict De Maar on guitar, Dave Ridgeway on Bass, and drummer Denver Furnes. Individually and collectively they are recognised as the most seasoned studio and live session musicians in South Africa. They have put together a medley of chilled light jazz, bebop and some foot stomping blues, especially for Easter Sunday.
