Table Bay Hotel (Cape Town) 'Wine of the Season' - Winter 2012

Table Bay Hotel's 'Wine of the Season': Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to ‘The Wine of the Season’ at The Table Bay Hotel.

Most of you would agree that winter is a season often frowned upon because the sun has turned its back on us. Even if that is the case…don’t be intimidated by rainy weather because The Table Bay Hotel has just what you need to keep your spirits high during this winter period. Winter is also a time to spoil yourself with good wine. Take time out to get in touch with yourself again – be it around the dinner table or at the fireplace.

We are proud to continually showcase the best South African wines. The Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 has been carefully selected as the perfect winter companion for those who are serious about the finer things in life. The wine has a bold approach of ripe dark fruit like blackcurrant and cassis that change with every sip. The wine is sure to have you glued to the glass as it unwinds its charms.

These flavours are also complimented by a rich but not overpowering pallet with seamless well-polished tannins. This wine will take you to a place where winter is welcomed with great anticipation.

The Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as our classic “Chateau Briand”, and how can I forget about our new addition of Lamb Shank in all its glory to name but a few. After an excellent meal, savour what is left in your glass as you soak up the warmth of the blazing fire and listen to the cracking firewood in sheer luxury.

Be sure to treat yourself and special ones this winter. Reservations for The Atlantic Grill, one of the best restaurants in Cape Town, can be made by contacting us on 021 406 5918 or email

Until next time…
