The Best Breakfast in the Cape!on December 3, 2010
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that the better the breakfast, the happier and more productive you’ll be. If that’s true, then my day after the breakfast at The Table Bay was my best day ever! If you’ve never experienced the Table Bay breakfast, I suggest (for your own benefit) that you do. If you fancy yourself a foodie, then a meal at the best address in the Cape is a real must-do on your agenda.
You’re given a great choice to suit your appetite – order from the à la carte breakfast menu, or brave the buffet. I say “brave” because this particular buffet is not for the faint-hearted. What breakfast buffet has a selection of sushi, oysters and roast Peking duck to choose from? Yes, that’s right; you are in for a taste explosion, no matter what your preference may be!
Is your mouth watering yet? I thought so. It doesn’t stop there my fellow dining friends… Add to the above, a juice bar (with over 8 different types of freshly squeezed juice), a bread bar (with too many different varieties to remember), a cold meat bar, a Mexican breakfast bar (with burritos and guacamole) and of course good ol’ bacon and eggs. Voila! You have a recipe for an indescribably decadent breakfast.
On the morning in question, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to host 2 of Cape Town’s most prominent bloggers, Cape Town Girl a.k.a Alex van Tonder and Blind Cripple a.k.a Neal Tosefsky for the first of hopefully many Table Bay Blogger Breakfasts. Chef Dallas Orr even made Alex mini pistachio macarons as a special treat, as she’s known for her obsession with the tasty delicacies.
I will definitely make an effort to go back when I’m next in Cape Town, even if I’m not booked into a room at The Table Bay. It’s just too good to pass up, see you at the buffet table!
